Full Job Description
Adjunct faculty members must be responsible for effectively planning and teaching courses in a classroom environment to students with a variety of academic backgrounds and experiences.
This position involves:
- Laboratory instruction in embalming
- Lecture in embalming instruments and OSHA safety procedures in laboratory setting
- Insuring lab is OSHA and VA State Board Compliant
- Coordination and visitation of off-campus clinical sites (100 mile radius)
- Maintenance of student embalming records
- Inventory of embalming supplies and cadavers
- Coordination with crematory and preparation of remains for cremation
May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Preferred candidates will have graduated from an accredited mortuary school and will have at least 5 years experience in clinical embalming.
The selected candidate’s offer is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background investigation, which may include: fingerprint checks, local agency checks, employment verification, verification of education, credit checks (relevant to employment).
